We were conscious that very little indigenous forest remains in the Balaka area and reserved approximately 1,000 acres of original natural land where many local trees, flora and fauna can be preserved within the farm. We have also embarked on an extensive reforestation project, where new hedge-rows and boundaries have been planted with Jatropha, Neem, Leucena, Acacia, and Moringa trees to maintain the balance between the commercial farm and forest areas in and around the farm. Within the forest areas, there are several bee-keeping sections which contribute to a healthy ecosystem and provide for our delicious Toleza Honey.
