Livestock

The Farm is well suited to rearing Cattle and over the past 4 years we have re-built a substantial herd of high quality animal. As we build Toleza into a more diversified sustainable farm, our target herd size is about 1,000 cattle. The main herd comprises some 600 cows and bulls based upon the cross of local breeds with Brahman.

In addition, we have a cattle fattening unit and sell around 200 cattle per year for high quality meat. This figure is set to increase to around 500 in 2012. We also have a small milking herd producing around 100 litres per day.
